Tamara Massong

After retiring from the Army Corps of Engineers in 2015, Tamara began throwing clay in a beginner class at NM Clay in Albuquerque. As her throwing skills improved, Tamara branched out into decorating the pots with painted-glaze designs. Additionally, Tamara practices hand-building techniques with clay, to create unusual bowls, tiles and figurines. When not in her studio, Tamara enjoys exploring our mountainous landscapes, writing and skiing. Tamara has lived in New Mexico since the 1990s, and recently moved to Los Alamos with her family in 2019.
